Bright Light Media to Launch Kickstarter for Mixtape Massacre

A “Killer” New Board Game.

Washington, DC — March 31, 2015.
Bright Light Media’s latest project, Mixtape Massacre, is a tabletop board game where up to 6 people play as horror film archetypes and compete in a fictional 1986 killing spree to be remembered.

Players travel the streets of Tall Oaks visiting different town locations, vying for a chance to draw a card from the Killer Scenes, Dude deck (cards decorated like VHS tapes of old), providing an opportunity to slay victims and collect souvenirs. Claim your prize by rolling the action dice, marked in knives, fists, and pentagrams to the amount required on your card.

Along the way, take your chances with the Bonus Tracks cards (decorated like your favorite dusty mixtape) or engage in Brawls, where players can battle it out and eliminate one another from the game.

To win the game, be the first to rack up a body count of 10 or be the last player left alive.

With tons of jokes and references to all of your favorite 1980’s music, films, and pop-culture icons – Mixtape Massacre will have you laughing while you’re slashing!

A Kickstarter campaign for the game will launch on April 8, 2015 with an assortment of rewards, as well as some killer stretch goals to enhance the game’s playing experience.

A live demo will take place at Third Eyes ComicsInternational Table Top Day event in Annapolis, MD on April 11, 2015. Customers will be able to demo two working prototypes of the game and sign up at the event to back the project on Kickstarter.

Marveling Redesign with Superpowered E-Commerce

Calling back to our Third Eye Comics Photo Shoot last June, we worked with local comic store, Third Eye Comics on a revamp of their website. The two main focuses were to implement both an easy-to-use online store as well as an active news feed that displays their latest highlights on a weekly basis. With that in mind, we designed and developed a simple and clean site that allows new customers and the Third Eye Faithful to stay up-to-date with all their recent comic releases.

From comics, to toys, to games, and everything in between the new Third Eye Comics makes shopping for comic-lovers and staying in the loop easy for anyone with any device.

Third Eye Comics Photo Shoot

Last week we took a field trip to Annapolis, MD to visit our new clients at Third Eye Comics. During our first visit to Annapolis location (the other located in Lexington Park, MD), we conducted a photo shoot to gather some photos that encapsulated the general vibe of the store. As we are currently in the process of redesigning and developing their website, as well as constructing an online store for them, we wanted to be sure to have some quality photography to use within the site. From comic books, graphic novels, and other awesome miscellaneous trinkets that run from wall to wall, we took photos that captured the feel and atmosphere that crowns Third Eye Comics as a comic-lover’s paradise.

The new website and online store should be ready by October 2014. Until then take a look at some of the photos from the shoot below.
